Get notified about campaign milestones and performance changes

Alerts

BannerTrackr alerts notify you about important campaign events — from milestone achievements to CTR drops. Stay on top of your sponsorships without constantly checking the dashboard.

Types of Alerts

Milestone Alerts

Automatic notifications when campaigns hit impression milestones:

  • 10K impressions — Your first major milestone
  • 50K impressions — Growing audience
  • 100K impressions — Significant reach
  • 500K impressions — High-volume campaign
  • 1M impressions — Major achievement

CTR Drop Alerts

Get notified when your click-through rate drops significantly week-over-week. You configure the threshold (default: 20% drop).

Usage Limit Warnings

Automatic alerts when you approach your plan's limits:

  • 80% usage — Time to consider upgrading
  • 95% usage — Approaching limit

Alert settings are configured globally in Settings (not per-placement).

Both can be enabled independently.

Alert Delivery

  • CTR drops exceeding your threshold
  • Milestone achievements

Managing Alerts

Mark as Read

Click the checkmark on any alert to mark it read. This clears the notification badge.

Bulk Actions

  • Mark all as read — Clear all unread alerts at once
  • Delete — Remove individual alerts

Daily Limit

To prevent alert fatigue, BannerTrackr limits alerts to 10 per day per user.

Common Alert Scenarios

New Campaign Launch

As your campaign grows, you'll see milestone alerts:

  1. 10K impressions — Tracking is working
  2. 50K impressions — Campaign gaining traction
  3. More milestones as traffic grows

Performance Monitoring

During an active sponsorship:

  • CTR alerts if engagement drops below your threshold
  • Week-over-week comparison ensures meaningful alerts

Approaching Limits

When you near your plan's impression limit:

  • 80% warning gives you time to plan
  • 95% warning is your final heads-up

Best Practices

Set Appropriate CTR Thresholds

Base thresholds on your historical data:

  • Check your average CTR across campaigns
  • Set the drop threshold slightly above normal fluctuation
  • 20% is a good starting point for most publishers

Use Slack for Teams

If you have a team managing sponsorships:

  • Create a dedicated #sponsorships channel
  • Send alerts there for visibility
  • Everyone stays informed without checking the dashboard

Review Alerts Regularly

  • Check your Alert Center weekly
  • Mark alerts as read to keep the badge meaningful
  • Use alerts to identify underperforming campaigns

Troubleshooting

Not receiving email alerts?

  1. Check Settings → Alert Thresholds has email enabled
  2. Look in spam/promotions folders
  3. Verify your email address is correct in Settings

Slack not receiving alerts?

  1. Verify the webhook URL is correct in Settings → Integrations
  2. Test the connection with the "Test" button
  3. Check the channel still exists
  4. After 3 failed deliveries, Slack integration auto-disables

Alerts seem delayed?

Threshold checks run daily after stats aggregation (around 2 AM UTC). Alerts may take up to 24 hours to appear after the triggering event.
